Alberto obtuvo su doctorado en la Universidad de Bolonia. Es becario postdoctoral Marie Curie en ESSEC Business School, en París. Se encuentra en excedencia en el Departamento de Economía y Empresa de la UPF, ocupando la plaza de profesor ayudante titular. Sus principales intereses de investigación se encuentran en el campo de la Investigación Operativa y el Aprendizaje Automático.
