The UPF Barcelona School of Management (UPF-BSM) has joined the QS Business Masters Ranking for the first time, positioning two of its programs among the top 4 in Spain in the 2023 edition. These are the Master of Science in Finance and Banking, directed by Albert Banal Estañol, in the area of finance, and the Master of Science in Marketing, directed by Antonio Ladrón de Guevara, in the area of marketing.
Both programs stand out for the impact and academic reputation of their research, ranking among the top 25 worldwide in this category
In the case of the MSc in Finance and Banking, which is ranked in the finance area led by IE Business School and ESADE at the Spanish level, it stands out in the area of "thought leadership", especially for the impact and academic reputation of its research. In fact, in this aspect, the program ranks among the top 25 in the world. The ranking also values the diversity in the classroom, both for the wide range of nationalities among the students, as well as for the significant presence of women on the faculty. The value for money in terms of return on investment (ROI) made by students is also positively underlined.
The MSc in Marketing, which is part of the marketing area led in Spain by ESADE and UC3M, excels in the "thought leadership" area, where it also ranks among the top 25 globally. The MSc in Marketing also scores well in terms of value for money, specifically in ROI but, unlike the MSc in Finance and Banking, in this case it manages to position itself among the top 50 worldwide. In terms of classroom diversity, the program led by Ladrón de Guevara is distinguished by the large presence of female students and the variety of nationalities among them.
The MSc in Marketing excels in ROI metrics and ranks in the global top 50 in this variable
For years, the QS Business Masters Ranking has been compiling the best programs worldwide in the fields of business analysis, finance, management, marketing and, from 2021, also supply chain. It is a ranking with global impact that examines 100 programs from up to 26 countries, more than 48,000 academics and 27,000 alumni. Among the ranked business schools are the triple-accredited HEC Paris, ESSEC Business School in France, ESADE and IE Business School in Spain, and London Business School in the UK, among others.
The methodology used by the ranking is based on study of the programs presented on the basis of five key metrics against which each master's degree is scored: occupability (35%), thought leadership (20%), value for money (20%), alumni outcome (15%), and class & faculty diversity in terms of gender and nationalities (10%).
