Only 5 programs in Logistics and Supply Chain in Spain hold this prestigious professional certification issued by ELA, which grants graduates of the master's program the title of European Certified Logistician at the Senior Management Level.

The Master's in Supply Chain Management, Technology, and Sustainability at UPF Barcelona School of Management (UPF-BSM) has passed the professional certification process of the European Logistics Association (ELA), a federation of national logistics associations that represents over 55,000 professionals in the sector across Europe.

Starting from the current academic year (24/25), students who graduate from this master's program at UPF-BSM will also receive the ELA Certification – European Certified Logistician at the Senior Management Level (ESLog). In Spain, only five master's programs in Logistics and Supply Chain – including the one at UPF-BSM – hold this prestigious professional certification issued by ELA.

The certification measures and recognizes professional competencies in the logistics and supply chain sector through Qualification Standards (ELAQF), developed by ELA in collaboration with the industry and approved by it. These standards are periodically updated and reviewed through a network of experts and professionals to ensure alignment with market needs.

“Obtaining this certification is a great recognition, as it highlights that the UPF-BSM master's program is fully aligned with the current needs of the sector and prepares its students with the skills and competencies that companies today demand,” explains Oriol Montanyà, Director of the Master's in Supply Chain Management, Technology, and Sustainability at UPF-BSM.

The program is supported by companies such as Amazon, Seat-Cupra, Mango, Danone, Henkel, the Port of Barcelona, and the Spanish Logistics Center. Furthermore, throughout the course, professionals from the sector share their experience with students both in supply chain management and in leadership and team management.

With the aim of offering a more practical learning experience, the program includes visits to logistics centers and leading companies in the Supply Chain field, as well as organizing a boat trip from Barcelona to Italy to get first-hand experience of the keys to intermodal transport.

“Barcelona offers a unique location for training in the logistics and Supply Chain sector. The city and its surroundings are one of the most important logistics hubs in Southern Europe, with high demand for specialists in logistics, operations, and supply chain management,” emphasizes Oriol Montanyà.

The teaching team for the program consists of specialists in Supply Chain, logistics, economics, technology, and sustainability, who teach students the latest market trends: process robotization and automation, data extraction and interpretation, environmentally friendly supply chain models, and the circular economy, among others.
