Three graduates from the Master's in Genetic Consultancy win the UPFEmprèn Prize for 2009

Infogènia, SL, Assessorament Genètic, a project put together by Clara Serra, Irene Valenzuela and Núria Capdevila, all three graduates on the Master\'s in Genetic Consultancy from IDEC-Universitat Pompeu Fabra, has won the second edition of the UPFEmprèn Prize, organised by UPF\'s Social Council and sponsored by Fundació Banc Sabadell. The three winners were awarded a prize of 20,000 euros during an event which was attended, among others, by Núria Basi, president of UPF\'s Social Council, and UPF Rector Josep Joan Moreso.

The aim of the UPFEmprèn award is to promote entrepreneurial culture among UPF students, graduates and postgraduates. The winning initiative is based on a business opportunity founded on the application of leading scientific knowledge in the area of biomedicine, which creates a niche for a service in the market: genetic counselling and information related to hereditary diseases.
