The event is part of the AI Leaders project, an EU (Erasmus+) program aimed at enriching artificial intelligence education in higher education by promoting its ethical use and practical applications.
Today, UPF-BSM has become one of the venues hosting Orientation Day, a session that brought together business school faculty to conduct a pilot test of new tools and materials for integrating AI into classroom learning experiences.
Led by Ana Freire, Vice Dean for Academic Innovation and Social Impact at UPF-BSM; Rodrigo Cetina, Associate Dean for Education and Academic Affairs at UPF-BSM and Ramón Bastida, Director of the MBA Full-Time Program at UPF-BSM, the school's faculty had the opportunity to review AI-based tools and practical teaching materials for higher education. This session also took place at the other two institutions participating in the AI Leaders project alongside UPF-BSM: the Faculty of Economics at the University of Porto and the Faculty of Management at the University of Lodz, where educators also had access to the materials.
“The idea is for professors to review the materials, assess their applicability in their classes, and later provide us with feedback so we can refine them,” explains Ana Freire. The final teaching resources will be available for free on the AI Leaders website to equip European business schools with these tools.
This initiative is funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ program and also includes the participation of the Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial & Engaged Universities (ACEEU), the European E-Learning Institute, Feltech Software Innovations, the University of Porto, the University of Lodz, and UPF Barcelona School of Management.
“The project aims to train future business leaders to develop and implement AI solutions aligned with European values and ethical regulations, thus contributing to the creation of a highly skilled workforce across Europe,” says Freire.
