The UPF Barcelona School of Management has been included for the first time in the Executive MBA 2023 ranking published by QS, one of the world’s most closely followed classifications in the higher education sector.
In its seventh edition, the respected ranking has analyzed a total of 200 business schools around the world. The ranking is headed by internationally acclaimed institutions such as IESE, HEC Paris, London Business School, INSEAD and ESADE, to name just a few. Therefore, this accolade confirms the status of the UPF-BSM’s Executive MBA among the global elite in executive training.
José Manuel Martínez-Sierra, the Director General of the UPF-BSM, highlighted that this achievement “endorses our long-term strategy and enables us to continue building a future in alignment with the process of modernization, professionalization and internationalization that we are currently undergoing”.
A ranking that positions us among the global elite of business schools
The ranking’s methodology is based on the evaluation of five variables: the School’s reputation among businesspeople, the academic community’s evaluation of the program, the executive profile of the students, the professional progression of the graduates and the diversity of the academic group.
The Executive MBA programs also have to hold one of the international AACSB, AMBA or EQUIS accreditations. This prerequisite guarantees the program’s compliance with the very highest international standards of quality and academic rigor and ranks us among the elite business schools on a global scale.
The UPF Barcelona School of Management has managed to rank above average compared to the other business schools classified in terms of our reputation in the academic community and the diversity of our academic groups.
“This accolade is the result of the efforts and rigor of the program directors over the course of many years. I am proud that our program ranks among the elite of the best Executive MBAs on the highly respected QS ranking”, explained Susana Domingo Pérez, the Director of the Program.
Another step further along the road towards excellence
In recent years, the UPF Barcelona School of Management has embarked on a process to achieve academic excellence, which already led to its accreditation from the AMBA in 2021, and from EQUIS in 2022. These are considered to be two of the most important academic accreditations at a global level, certifying the academic quality of institutions in line with rigorous international standards.
The School is currently undergoing a process of transformation with the aim of becoming the first business school linked to a Spanish university to be awarded the three leading international accreditations in the higher education, known as the “Triple Crown”, an achievement reached by only 1% of business schools around the world. To reach this milestone, the School needs to obtain AACSB, which we are currently in the process of gaining.
